Nevland, ErikErik Nevland

Founding President

Erik is a MASc civil engineering student at York University and works at the Region of Peel as a Transportation Planner. He obtained a BSc in Civil Engineering (2018) and a Certificate in Professional Communication (2017) at the University of Saskatchewan. Erik is also registered as an EIT with Professional Engineers Ontario. Erik's research areas of interest include freight transportation, transportation safety, geographic information systems (GIS), transportation planning, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).

Anson Thomas

Founding Vice President

Anson is a fourth year civil engineering undergraduate student at York University. From a young age, he has been interested in how multimodal transportation systems can connect people to various destinations. He has a strong interest in regional transit planning and has worked for Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to further develop and strengthen this passion. After completing his undergraduate degree, he strives to improve the lives of commuters by working in the transportation industry.

Rampure, RavichandraRavichandra Rampure

Founding Treasurer

Ravichandra is a MASc civil engineering student at York University. He completed his B.E in Civil Engineering (2013) from M.S Ramaiah Institute of Technology in Bangalore, India. He worked in the transportation industry in India for more than four years in L&T TI IC before moving to Canada. Ravi's research areas of interest include freight transportation, traffic engineering, transportation safety, microsimulation analysis, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).

Utama, DavinDavin Utama

Founding Secretary

Davin is a second year civil engineering undergraduate student at York University. Davin has both an academic and practical interest in active transportation. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Indonesian with some understanding in Cantonese. After completing his undergraduate degree, Davin aspires to work as a professional engineer in the transportation industry.

Oluwajana, SeunSeun Daniel Oluwajana

Founding Operations Director

Seun started his PhD program at the University of Saskatchewan in 2014, but transferred to York University in 2016 to continue his studies with Dr. Peter Park’s supervision. Seun previously obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) and a Masters of Engineering (M.Eng.) from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria in 2008 and 2012 respectively. He is passionate about transportation engineering research with special interest in safety.

Abrar, TanvirMD. Tanvir Uddin Chowdhury

Founding Events Director

Tanvir is a PhD civil engineering student at York University. He completed his BSc and MSc in civil engineering in 2013 and 2016 at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT-OIC) in Bangladesh. He has four years of industry experience as a Road Design Engineer & Technical Project Coordinator with Snowy Mountain Engineering Corporation (SMEC). Tanvir's research areas of interest include autonomous vehicles, freight transportation, transportation safety, highway geometric design, mesoscopic and microscopic simulation, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Tanvir was the founding ITE YorkU Events Director for the 2018-19 academic year.

Wang, CrystalCrystal Wang

Founding Social Director

Crystal is a MASc civil engineering student at York University. She obtained a BSc in Civil Engineering (2016) at the University of Saskatchewan. She was the secretary of Civil Engineering Graduate Student Association in York University from 2016 to 2017. Her research areas of interest include freight transportation, transportation safety, speed enforcement, microsimulation analysis, weigh-in-motion systems (WIM), geographic information systems (GIS), and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).

Milirsan Pugalendiran

Founding Finance Director

Milirsan is a fourth year civil engineering undergraduate student at York University. He has a strong passion for the future of transportation infrastructure and how it will evolve in the next decade. Specifically, he is interested in how Autonomous Vehicles (AV) will have an impact on the design and construction of future infrastructure projects. After completing his undergraduate degree, he strives to be an active member in the transportation engineering community by working on new and efficient transportation road networks.

Elanakayon Annalingam

Founding Undergraduate Liaison

Elanakayon is a forth year civil engineering undergraduate student at York University. He aspires to solve the issues that society faces when dealing with transportation. He has a specific interest in public transit, especially in the GTHA region. After completing his undergraduate degree, he aspires to work in the transportation industry or pursue graduate studies to further explore solutions to transportation issues.

Gingerich, KevinDr. Kevin Gingerich

Faculty Advisor

Dr. Kevin Gingerich is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation studies. Dr. Gingerich received his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Windsor, during which time he was awarded an NSERC PGS-D scholarship. His work was conducted for the Cross-Border Institute where he focused on Canada-U.S. trade via truck data processing, analysis, and modelling. Dr. Gingerich’s research interests include transportation network modelling, freight transportation, GIS spatial analysis, and discrete choice modelling.
